About Me
  • Currently I go by the name Astra, but went by the name Blue for a very very long time. I guess I've gotten to the point where I find it a bit annoying, since it doesn't suit me as well as it used to. (RL people know what I'm talking about).
  • I love the color Blue, but still like other colors.
  • I'm a senior at the University of Texas at Austin. My major is Textile and Apparel (aka Fashion Design).
    • If you think it's a super easy major think again! Stupid "Legally Blonde" gave people the wrong impression. Now we have a bazillion people trying to get in...and for the last time there is no such class as the "History of Polka Dots"!!!!
    • We do have a class thats called the "History of Fashion" but its really like an art history class, but its super detailed, because we have to study the economic and social structures are well.
  • I work part-time as a computer tech person. Doing random odd jobs I guess, when I need the extra money. (Material for my design classes ain't cheap).
  • I'm a huge tech/gadgets freak.
  • Pet Peeves
    • Drunk people (and all subcategories following)
    • Really slow drivers
    • People who only talk to you to get your help on something
    • People who scream and blare music at 2am on a weekday (especially the asshats that live above me)
    • Rap music (i dunno why, I just dont like it).
    • Crying children
About the Site
  • I'm not exactly sure where this domain name came from. I remember I wanted something cute, but not too childish. The problem with domain names is trying to find a good one that is not taken. Honestly I'm surpised this one wasn't at the time, so I jumped on it after trying who knows how many other combinations.
  • The site was originally feartheblue.com.
    • Fear The Blue was originally the name of my character on City of Heroes (an MMORPG). At the time I was playing, I decided I wanted a new domain name for my website. Back in the dark ages it was called "You Got Anime", but I grew out of the anime phase. I still watch it and stuff, but not as crazily as I did before. My friend suggested that I name it the same as the character, and since my other options pretty much sucked, so be it.
    • Blue was my nickname when I first started playing and told me I should name my character "Fear The Blue". It just stuck.
  • For awhile I was into cosplay, and thats what the site was mainly about, but now having to dedicate all my sewing time to the projects for my classes, I have very little sewing leisure time. Even if I had the time, thats even more sewing and I can only stand being hunched over a machine for so long, before I go crazy (hence the crazy discussions that go on in the sewing labs on campus. I think the other day we were talking about running off to Canada and that Wyoming doesn't exist. lol)
  • Currently I've become addicted to Fanlistings, and thats what the site is focused on at this moment. I want to put my art up online, but after hearing all the crazy stuff about people stealing other people's works I've decided not to....especially since many of my art is more focused on the clothing part which I might make one day.
  • I'm still in the process of figuring out what I want to put on here, and what not to. So bear with me please :)
